In Iwang: pavilion for African Countries, Get imagines and digitally constructs a ‘utopian’ structure for the site of the Pavilion for African Countries at the Venice Biennale. For Get, the Pavilion represents an opportunity to create a future for African countries and their artists completely of their own design. Yet, crucially, the renderings presented here cannot exist in the current state of our physical world. The project is generally thought of as a dynamic space of constant evolution and creativity – a generative space. versus a static, singularly hierarchical, and dictated space of exhibition like the Western Venice Biennale.
